ESXiのパッチあて

いつも調べ直すのでメモ

製品パッチ
ここから最新パッチをDLしてデータストアに転送

今回はESXi 6.0u3クリーンインストールからのESXi600-201911001.zipをあてる
なお、パッチは古いものから順に適用する必要はなく、最新のもののみでOK

ESXiのSSHを使って

# esxcli system version get
   Product: VMware ESXi
   Version: 6.0.0
   Build: Releasebuild-5050593
   Update: 3
   Patch: 57

# esxcli software sources profile list -d /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/updates/ESXi600-201911001.zip

*-no-toolsは、VMware Toolsが含まれないprofile
ここにはないがs-*はセキュリティfixのみが含まれるprofile

pオプションでprofileを指定してdry-run

esxcli software profile update --dry-run -d /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/updates/ESXi600-201911001.zip -p ESXi-6.0.0-20191104001-standard

Reboot Required: trueなので再起動必須。
--dry-runを外して本番Upgradeしてreboot

再起動後、ちゃんとパッチがあたっていることを確認。

# esxcli system version get
   Product: VMware ESXi
